WW3 warning: Most Americans now see North Korea as a direct ENEMY of the United States | World | News

Of those surveyed, 56 percent of Americans said the nation led by Kim Jong-un was an enemy, while a further 22 percent believed North Korea was at the very least, unfriendly. In a further blow to any future relations, just one percent of those asked stated that the country was an ally to the US while 15 percent said they were unsure.

The release of the poll comes as North Korea launched two missiles on Thanksgiving in what some have termed as a clear display of force to the US.

According to the South Korean military on Thursday, their neighbouring state launched two short-range missiles.

Commenting on the launch of the two missiles, retired Army Colonel, Jack Jacobs stated that it was “no coincidence” that it was done on the US holiday.

The missiles were launched from what has been termed as a “super-large multiple rocket launcher”.

With talks between the two states non-existent at the moment, first vice minister at the North Korean Foreign Ministry working on US affairs said, Ri Thae Song made the warning to the US.

He added: “The dialogue touted by the US is, in essence, nothing but a foolish trick hatched to keep the DPRK bound to dialogue and use it in favour of the political situation and election in the US.

“It is entirely up to the US what Christmas gift it will select to get.”

Although US President Donald Trump has tried to heal relations between the two countries since he came to office, North Korea has stated that it has been betrayed.

Last month, North Korea’s UN delegation admitted that it had gained “nothing by a sense of betrayal” from negotiations between the two.

In June, President Trump sent a letter to Kim in order to try and restore relations after a failed meeting in February.

The two had first met in Singapore in 2018 in order to try and progress the process of denuclearisation.

However, the two could not come to an agreement on matters.

As it stands, there are no plans for a further summit between Trump and Kim.

YouGov polled 1,500 US adult citizens on North Korea between November 24-26.
