Kate Middleton news: The telling sign Kate is gearing up to be Queen | Royal | News

Kate, Duchess of Cambridge will one day be Queen when her husband Prince William takes over the throne. Prince William is second in the line of succession behind his father, Prince Charles.

With recent changes in the Royal Family, including Prince Andrew stepping back from royal engagements, responsibilities have shifted to other members of the family.

In particular, Prince Charles and Prince William have been undertaking more duties according to royal experts.

It was also reportedly Charles and William who were the driving force behind Andrew stepping back from his roles after his Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis.

Prince Andrew was quizzed on his relationship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein in what many dubbed a “car-crash” interview.

A source told the Sunday Times William had spoken to the Queen and Charles about Andrew’s future and believed his removal from public life was “the right thing to do”.

They said: “William is becoming more and more involved in decisions about the institution [the monarchy] and he’s not a huge fan of his uncle Andrew.”

Not only this, but the Queen has reportedly herself allowed Prince Charles to take over duties in her stead as preparation for his future as king.

Royal expert Richard Bethelson told CTV News of the Queen: “She has, over the past five or six years, made way for the Prince of Wales to undertake her duties.”

“To mark her new patronage, The Duchess is visiting Peterley Manor Farm where she will join families and children supported by the Family Action taking part in Christmas activities.”

At Peterley Manor Farm on Wednesday, Kate spent time with families making Christmas decorations and eco-friendly reindeer food.

Later she will go with those families to help pick Christmas trees for Family Action’s pre-schools, before heading indoors for warming hot chocolate and conversations with the charity’s staff.

Chief Executive of Family Action David Holmes CBE, who is a member of The Duchess’ Early Years steering group, said, “Family Action is honoured that The Duchess of Cambridge has become our Royal Patron.

“Her Royal Highness follows on from Her Majesty The Queen, who was our Royal Patron for more than 65 years.

“Everyone at Family Action would like to extend our thanks to Her Majesty for her steadfast support and encouragement to us over so many years.

“I have seen The Duchess’s passionate support for disadvantaged families first hand and have been impressed by her leadership in understanding and promoting the vital importance of the Early Years.

“Family Action looks forward to working with The Duchess in the years to come.”
