Boris Johnson caught ‘lasciviously’ flirting with Turkish reporter at press conference | UK | News

The Prime Minister was caught “lasciviously” greeting the Turkish reporter with a cheeky “hello there” after she introduced herself before asking her question. The journalist appeared embarrassed as she smiled at and took a moment to recompose herself and ask her question. One Twitter user who noticed the hilarious moment tweeted: “Was there a little lasciviousness in Boris Johnson’s greeting to the attractive Turkish female journalist ‘Hello there’?”

The Prime Minister was taking questions after a meeting of leaders in Watford.

The reporter eventually asked: “You had many issues with our President, so how was your meeting with him?

“Could you please tell us a little bit? Were all the issues solved between you and him?”

Mr Johnson replied: “We had a very good discussion with Emmanuel Macron, Angela Merkel and President Erdoğan.

“We discussed the great complexity of the situation in northern Syria and clearly we recognise the huge pressure that Turkey faces with the four million refugees that Turkey is accommodating.

“The terrorist threat from the PKK that must be acknowledge, the very real threat that Turkey faces.

“And I think what we were all trying to do was to understand Turkey’s plans for that stretch of northern Syria.

“What they want to do, how they see the future there and the way forward.”

During the press conference, the Prime Minister also said it was “complete nonsense” to suggest he did not take Donald Trump seriously after a video appeared to show him and other leaders discussing the U.S. president.

Mr Johnson was filmed in conversation with Canada’s Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte at Buckingham Palace late on Tuesday.

Mr Trudeau appeared to describe how surprised US officials were with President Trump’s performance at an earlier news conference.

Asked at his own press conference if he did not take Trump seriously, Johnson replied: “That’s complete nonsense and I don’t know where that has come from.” Asked if the leaders had been talking about Trump, he said he didn’t know what was being referred to.

Mr Johnson ended his press conference by attacking Labour, saying the party wants to “destroy” Nato.

He added: “There is a choice between those who want to strengthen Nato and those in the Labour opposition who actually want to destroy it, destroy Nato, this alliance that has kept us safe.

“I want to strengthen MI5, that keeps us safe. Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party want to install a home secretary who wants to disband MI5.

“I want longer sentences for violent criminals and to make sure that terrorists serve their full term, Mr Corbyn doesn’t agree with that.”
