New Delhi: India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp on Monday reported a decline of 15.8 per cent in its domestic sales to 505,994 units in November 2019.

The company’s domestic sales stood at 601,045 units in November 2018, Hero said in a statement.

Total sales (domestic + exports) for the month also declined 15.3 per cent to 516,775 units last month.

Scooter sales witnessed a steep decline of 43 per cent to 37,575 units in the month under review as compared to 66,270 units in the same month last year. Motorcycles, too dropped 5.6 per cent to 479,200 units last month.

“Following record festive retail sales in October 2019 and lowest-ever inventory in two-years, the November 2019 despatch numbers reflect Hero MotoCorp’s intent to ensure a smooth transition to BS-VI norms,” the company asserted.

The company has also stopped production of more than 50 variants of its BS-IV range of products while rapidly increasing the production of BS-VI vehicles.

Meanwhile, the company’s exports increased 14.6 per cent to 10,781 units last month.
