General election 2019 news: Boris sends chilling warning to voters about Corbyn | Politics | News

The Conservative Party leader said Mr Corbyn’s long history of siding with the IRA, Palestinian terrorists and the Kremlin makes him becoming Prime Minister, a terrifying prospect for Britain. In an interview with The Sun, Mr Johnson said: “Every time he has the chance, he sides with our enemies.

“He spent the long years of the Cold War basically on the other side.”

The Prime Minister also pointed out that the UK’s closest allies which include the US have already expressed their concerns over Mr Corbyn becoming Prime Minister.

The US especially have said he makes them “very anxious” because he cannot be trusted with secret intelligence.

Mr Johnson also said he is concerned that voters are “losing focus” on the colossal decision they face on December 12.

Opinion polls between the two parties are now beginning to narrow with Labour slowly moving in on the Tories.

Mr Johnson has since called on the public to again concentrate on this election’s most important issue – Brexit.

Mr Johnson continued: “At the moment I just really worry that people aren’t focusing on the real political crisis and the reason why we had to do this thing.

“With 10 days to go, I want people to start really getting back and focusing on the reality of where we are.

“The choice at this election is so critical. This is the most critical election of modern times.”

The Tory leader stressed that the political crisis and Parliamentary stalemate over Brexit can only be ended by a Tory majority.

Mr Johnson has speculated that the gap between the two parties has narrowed in the polls as the six-week campaign has hit its home stretch.

Specifically, he said he believes voters have forgotten about the Brexit crisis.

He added: “I think what has happened in the course of the campaign is it has gone through various phases and people have slightly lost their focus on the political crisis that we face.

“Unless we get this thing done, unless we get Brexit done, this country cannot move forward.

“And I think maybe we need to bring that back. People need to focus on the reality that Corbyn in alliance with Nicola Sturgeon would represent an absolutely catastrophic choice for this country.

“Not only for the economic reasons, but because of the political chaos that would ensue next year.”

The Prime Minister is currently hosting a summit of NATO’s 29 leaders.

Attendees include US President Donald Trump, Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, France’s Emmanuel Macron and Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The formal proceedings will begin at Buckingham Palace where a reception will be hosted by The Queen.

Mr Johnson said the NATO gathering has shone a light on Mr Corbyn’s attitude.

He said: “Nato is an organisation that Corbyn has said he wants to disband. I am a proud believer in the Transatlantic Alliance, the alliance between the UK and America.

“In 70 years it has proved it is absolutely vital for our collective security. I think you have to stick up for this country and defend it. You have to take a stand and you have to stick up for British values.

“I don’t think it is to be strong to want to disband Nato, to want to scrap MI5, which is the agency that keeps us safe — and to kow-tow to people who mean us harm. That is a huge, huge mistake.”
